Exotic plants

Do you want to spice up your usual flower arrangement? Of course you do; flowers can make a beautiful addition to any home, but after a while you understandably get tired of seeing the same flowers over and over again. Go ahead and try something different in your vase. Or change the look and mood of your room with an unusual potted flowering plant. It is a lot less expensive than new carpets or painting the walls! If you want a new, innovative look for your house, add some exotic plants to your decor.

Orchids

The most popular exotic plants, and arguably the most beautiful, are orchids. The bloom of an orchid flower is sure to take your breath away. And while orchids are extremely popular (and for good reason: they are remarkably easy to grow), there are so many different kinds of orchids, you can pick orchids as your exotic plants without too much fear that you are just following the crowd. Indeed, there are literally thousands upon thousands of different varieties of flowering orchids.

Hawaiian flowers

Hawaiian flowers are very hot right now, as is anything to do with Hawaii, and are sure to be the perfect exotic plants to give your flower arrangement a carefree, summery look. If you are looking for an exceptional exotic plant, then you want to get a lava plant. These plants are grown on the Big Island right on the lava stone. The main kinds of lava plants you want to look for are bromeliad and anthurium lava plants. The bromeliad features a brightly colored middle stem surrounded by a circle of fronds. Anthurium plants have vibrant heart shaped flowers, usually bright red, white or pink, on a tall stalk. Roses have been done over and over; what could be more romantic than a heart shaped potted anthurium plant? Not only that, because it comes potted, your special someone will be able to enjoy that plant (and think of you) for far longer than with cut flowers.

Bird of Paradise

The bird of paradise is one of the most impressive exotic plants around. The bird of paradise is native to South Africa (where it is known as the crane plant), but can be found all over the world. Standing as much as two meters tall, the bird of paradise is an incomparable addition to your ornamental flower arrangement. The bird of paradise was given its name because of its similarity to the bird species of the same name; the bird of paradise’s fan shaped stems are said to resemble the head and beak of a bird.

No matter what kind of exotic plant you choose, you know you will be making an impressive and unique statement. Everyone always gets the same kinds of plants from the same places; it is time to branch out into exotic plants and shake up your routine! Turn your drab room upside down with a beautiful orchid, Hawaiian lava plant or bird of paradise.
